James Houtrides

James Houtrides who passed away April 19,2024, had retired from a distinguished career in print and broadcast journalism. Starting out as a reporter for a daily newspaper in Louisiana, he moved into an editor’s position at McGraw-Hill. For the last 30+ years of his career, he worked as a writer and producer at CBS News (Charles Kuralt and later Charles Osgood). In this role, he earned several Emmy awards. Following retirement, he returned to an old love, writing poetry.
